Gerlt Technologies makes hundreds of customizable rack effects, at prices comparable to guitar pedals.  It's time to dump that pedal board and get Your Tone off the floor!

 What We Do

You know them as guitar pedals

We build them as rack effect modules you can customize to get Your Tone

Put several rack effect modules into a 3U rack enclosure

Connect power and audio on the back like guitar pedals, adding connections for remote switching

Add a remote footswitch unit to turn rack effects on and off

Add as many rack effect modules, enclosures, and third-party products as you like. Plug in your guitar and amp. Rock it! It's that simple.

Quick Hits:

  • Check out our GT Effects Overview to see why we do this

  • Check out our Compares To charts to see the full list of effects we offer

  • Follow the menus from Products, to Modules, to Modules By Type to get a list of our effect types.  Select any effect type to get a list of all our effects of that type.  Select any effect to get full information including pricing.

UPDATE 10/26/26

Hello!

I hope all is well with you and yours as we head into the holiday season, starting in a few days with Halloween!  Gerlt Technologies will soon be on our holiday schedule.  You can contact Support at any time during the holidays, but we will not be shipping new orders starting December 15 and continuing through about January 22.  We should be back to normal shipping the last week of January.

Check out the extensive list of about 200 guitar pedals that I recently got up to our website, along with some exotic handmade guitar straps and the ever-popular 3U Pedal Racks that are now back in stock (black matte finish only).  It took me a lot longer than expected to get all the pedals listed, plus some other projects took up my time.  As a result, I didn’t finish up the Custom Muff Tone Device pedals, or get the guitars, amps, and other rack gear listed – next year!  Anyway, check out the current listings and maybe forward a URL or two to Santa so there’s no mix-up about what is on your list!  Get your orders in early so we can ship them before our elves go on holiday!

For those of you that haven’t done business with GT before, it’s simple.  Send an email to our Support address with your shipping address and let us know what item(s) are of interest.  I’ll send you an exact price with shipping.  If you want to purchase, then send a PayPal.  We ship only to US addresses via USPS, with insurance and tracking.  If you have any questions, you can send those to Support.  We usually get back within 24 hours unless we are on holiday schedule.

If we don’t hear from you before then, we wish you a safe and happy Holiday Season and best wishes for the coming New Year!

Cheers!

Bill

UPDATE 9/24/26 - Hello Effects Fans,

We are finally restocked on the 3U Pedal Racks.  These all have the black matte powder coat finish.  Shipping now!

Don't forget, you will see a new menu item for Other Gear.  There are sub-menus for some different categories of equipment.  I’ve just added over 200 pedals out there.  Many of them are rare/uncommon, old, popular, or generally interesting – among the best pedals made over the past several decades.  I’ve spent years building up this collection of great pedals, but it is time to turn them loose so they can find a better purpose than filling up space I don’t have to spare.  Check it out.

And if you look in Other Gear under Misc Gear you will find listings for some handcrafted guitar straps.  I used to make them years ago and have a few NOS ones for sale.

This part of the website is new and changing, so if something looks broken or missing, give it a day.  If problems persist or you have any questions or comments, just contact me at the Support email address.

As I get time, other gear will be listed – guitars, amps, pickups, electronics components, more pedals, demo modules, etc.  Check back now and then to see what I’ve been holding back all these years!

Cheers!

Bill

Hello Effects Fans!

Today the message is unpleasant.  After figuring how to deal with some of our government’s policy decisions for the past several years, I must finally admit defeat.  It is not feasible to continue operations with the latest round of policy changes.  As recently as a few days ago, I thought it might work out.  Then I was hit with business-ending tariff charges, with more to come.  To be clear, it isn’t just these new Trump tariffs that have beaten me.  Biden-era tariff changes and policies were also difficult to survive.  The cumulative effect is too much.

As an entrepreneur I take calculated and managed risks.  Sometimes it works out, and sometimes I seem to be shooting at my own feet.  But I can’t survive an economic nuking from my own government.  It’s not just a political disagreement, or differing opinions, theories, or expectations.  It’s a matter of undisputed facts, real dollars.  Gerlt Technologies’ “Game Over” criteria were met this week as those facts became crystal-clear.  I don’t like politics and refuse to take part in it, so I’ll just leave it at that.

Gerlt Technologies will no longer take new orders for our effects.  We do still have our popular 3U Pedal Racks available until our inventory is depleted.  New tariffs on metals will make them too expensive to restock, so get ‘em while we’ve got ‘em!  I have a handful of new modules that I’ll be completing soon.  I’ll still announce them when they are finished, just ‘cause.  We were already contemplating thinning out some of our guitars, amps, pedals, and maybe some components and other gear that have somehow quietly filled up all our available space over the past several years.  We may add some listings for those on the site or perhaps on Reverb in the coming months.  Keep an eye on us if you are interested in some lightly used gear in great condition.  I expect and plan this shutdown to be permanent, but maybe I’ll pop up and take a look around in a couple of years if enough major changes take place in government policy after the mid-term elections.

It has been a lot of fun!  I enjoyed meeting thousands of you along the way – always the best part of any adventure.  Thank you all, and all the best to you and yours!

Hello, Effects Fans!

First things first, here on 11/11.  A big “THANK YOU !!!” to all of you veterans and “future veterans” as we remember and honor your service and the contributions of your families to our great nation on this special day.  Our first veterans fought for and won our independence.  For nearly 250 years since, millions of American veterans have fought to preserve it.  You guys and gals rock!!!

As predicted in my last update, things have gone “quiet” around here as we wait out the impacts and ripple effects of the pandemic.  All the events we planned to attend were canceled.  We’ve missed being able to see you in person!  We know times are still difficult for musicians, so we wish a speedy end to the shutdowns so that everyone can get back to gigging and touring again.

We were concerned about some of our suppliers, but it seems most of them are open and operating.  Many of them are small businesses, so it is especially good to know they are able to make it through.  There may still be some delays for parts, but “delay” is better than “no longer available”.  Our inventories are at pretty good levels to help prevent delays on most of our many thousands of stocked parts.  Of course, many common parts are still readily available and have been all along.

While we burned through our entire 2020 R&D budget during the early part of the shutdown this year, we have still managed to come up with a few new modules and configurations.  A couple of new configurations should be announced by the end of the year, and some cool new modules should be available in Q1 of 2021, if all goes smoothly.

It’s still unclear what 2021 will bring, probably more slow times for at least the first half of the year.  We aren’t able to plan for any in-person events yet.  R&D will still be at a reduced level to keep funding available for other activities and events that we hope will become possible again in 2021.

Watch for a few new product announcements in the remainder of this year and into early 2021.  We have ideas we would like to turn into plans and products, but we have to wait along with everyone else for vaccines or whatever is necessary to get us back to better times.  In the meantime, it is likely to continue to be a quiet time for us.

I know that’s not much of an update.  Hopefully, 2021 will get us back to frequent and regular new product announcements and events!

Until next time, best wishes to you and yours during the upcoming holiday season – it will soon be here!
